London Welsh celebrate winning the Championship

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) have set a date for London Welsh's appeal over being denied promotion to the Premiership on eligibility grounds.

Last month the RFU announced the Championship winners had not met the minimum standards criteria for entry into the top flight.

The Exiles had submitted plans to ground share with Oxford United.

Welsh will have their appeal heard by an independent panel on Thursday 21 June in central London.

The south-west London club have stated they will consider legal action if they are denied promotion via the RFU's appeal process.
