Bath have announced that fly-half Stephen Donald will leave the club at the end of the season to play in Japan.

The New Zealand international, who moved to the Rec in 2011, has agreed a deal to join Mitsubishi Dynaboars.

Donald, 29, said: "I've had a great time with Bath, but feel it is time for a new challenge in a new league.

"I'd like to thank everyone for all the support during my time here. I'm really looking forward to doing all I can to help us end this season on a high."

Donald, who has 23 caps for the All Blacks, has scored 107 points in 20 Premiership appearances for Bath.

Bath head coach Gary Gold added: "Steve has brought a lot of experience to the squad in the last couple of years.

"We wish him all the best of luck in Japan next season."
