Liam Williams is a fresh Wales injury worry after he came off in Scarlets' 22-7 defeat by Glasgow on Friday.

Full-back Williams, 23 and who has won 18 Wales caps, left in the second half because of a shoulder injury.

The same fate befell Wales back-row contender Aaron Shingler.

Scarlets boss Wayne Pivac said: "You could see with Liam - he was obviously holding that shoulder so he had to come off and we'll have some news in the next day or so."

Williams hopes to challenge Toulon's British and Irish Lion Leigh Halfpenny for the Wales full-back spot.

Shingler, 27, also has strong competition to overcome if he is to add to his eight caps in the annual European tournament.

Wales captain Sam Warburton, Dan Lydiate, Taulupe Faletau and Justin Tipuric are among the Lions back-row talent Shingler has to compete with.

"We'll see how they [Williams and Shingler] scrub up in the next 48 hours, but both [are] a bit sore at the moment.

Scarlets' Wales hooker Ken Owens has not played since September and is also a Six Nations doubt.

Owens' Parc y Scarlets hooking colleague Emyr Phillips's Six Nations hopes were ended by a dislocated shoulder.

And ahead of the defeat in Scotstoun Scarlets tight-head prop Samson Lee suffered a neck injury that gives Wales coach Warren Gatland a concern.

That followed another aspiring international player in prop Rhodri Jones suffering a dislocated shoulder.
