BBC coverage of the World Aquatics Championships

The BBC will be covering the World Aquatics Championships with eight programmes throughout the fortnight including a live broadcast of the men's 10m Platform final and six of the eight finals sessions of the swimming.

There will also be a catch-up highlights programme on BBC One on the final Saturday of the competition (3rd August).

Times stated below are subject to change, and full details will appear here in due course.

World Swimming Championships (28 July to 4 August)

- Daily live coverage from the Championships on BBC television, radio, online, mobile, the BBC Sport app and Connected TV

Double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington will join the BBC team to introduce live televison coverage from the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona.

Sunday 28 July

Helen Skelton introduces coverage of the men's 10m platform diving final at the Fina World Championships in Barcelona.

Great Britain's Olympic bronze medallist Tom Daley will be hoping to recapture the world title he won in 2009. Daley is likely to yet again face stiff competition from the two men who finished above him on the Olympic podium last summer - China's silver medallist Qui Bo and gold medallist David Boudia, from the USA.

Monday 29 July

Double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington joins the team for 2013 as Gabby Logan introduces the swimming action from the Fina World Championships in Barcelona.

Great Britain's swimming squad will look to improve on the one silver and two bronze medals won at last year's Olympic Games. They will have tough competition in the form of Ryan Lochte, Chad Le Clos and Missy Franklin, as the 2012 gold medallists return to the world stage

Tuesday 30 July

Gabby Logan presents continued coverage from the swimming at the Fina World Championships in Barcelona.

The biennial competition was last held in Shanghai in 2011 when the British team collected three gold medals courtesy of Keri-Anne Payne (10km open water), Liam Tancock (50m backstroke) and Rebecca Adlington (800m freestyle).

Britain's biggest medal hope may be Scotland's Michael Jamieson, who won Olympic silver in the 200m breaststroke last summer.

He booked his place at the World Championships when he set the fastest time in the world this year at the British Gas Swimming Championships in Sheffield.

Expert opinion and analysis comes from double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington.

Saturday 3 August

BBC One: 13:00-14:30

Gabby Logan introduces highlights of the best of the week's action from the FINA World Championships in Barcelona.

There will be a look at how Team GB have fared, as well as seeing how some of the names that so memorably lit-up the Olympic Games in London last year performed.

BBC Two: 18:00-19:30

Gabby Logan introduces live action from the penultimate day of the Fina World Championships in Barcelona.

Multiple Olympic medallist Missy Franklin began the week attempting to win seven gold medals, and tonight she will be hoping to top the podium in the 200m backstroke.

Also in action is one of the stars of the London 2012 Games, Chad Le Clos, who competes in the 100m fly.

Jazz Carlin is one of the British team's biggest hopes of a medal as she goes in the 800m freestyle.

Sunday 4 August

BBC Two: 18:00-19:30

Gabby Logan introduces live action from the final session of the Fina World Championships from Barcelona.

America's Ryan Lochte harboured hopes of six golds at the start of these Championships and tonight he competes in his last two events.

The British team's best chance of a medal from this session may come from Fran Halsall in the 50m freestyle.
