Becky James and Manon Lloyd in GB track cycling team

Becky James missed the 2014 Commonwealth Games with injury.

Becky James has been selected for the Great Britain squad to take part at the Dudenhofen GP in Germany on 28 and 29 August.

The 23-year-old won gold in the keirin and sprint at the 2013 Track World Championships.

She made her comeback after 18 months out with injury at the Revolution Series in Derby at the weekend.

The Great Britain team for the event also features young Welsh endurance rider Manon Lloyd.

James has set her sights on a place in the Team GB track squad for the Rio Olympics, and will need to qualify for the World Cup series of events over the winter.

The British cycling team for Rio will be selected in mid-June 2016 with performances during the period running from 1 October 2015 to 1 June 2016 taken into consideration.

"Becky James needs to get some more racing under her belt while she continues her recovery from injury," Great Britain Cycling Team's coach co-ordinator, Iain Dyer, said.

"I am also looking forward to the younger Academy riders showing us what they're capable of."

Lloyd, 18, joined the GB Cycling's Olympic Academy Programme in October 2014 after winning two gold medals at the junior European track championships in Portugal the previous summer..
