Germany claimed a one-two in the women's luge, with Natalie Geisenberger pipping defending champion Tatjana Huefner to win Winter Olympic gold.

Geisenberger, 26, produced a stunning final run of 50.189 seconds for a total of three minutes 19.768 seconds.

That gave her a winning margin of over a second and allowed her to improve on the bronze she won in Vancouver.

This time, bronze went to Erin Hamlin, who won the United States' first medal in an individual luge event.
