Jersey Special Gymnastics Club coach John Grady is set to take his last session on Friday before retiring.

Grady, who also coached Great Britain, first set up the club 22 years ago and will be replaced by Yana Vibert.

"John's contribution and achievements are incredible and his part in the club's success has been considerable," the club said in a statement., external

"I am confident as there are a lot of enthusiastic people to leave the club with," Grady told BBC Radio Jersey.

"An excellent head coach is replacing me, a very strong committee and lots of parents are supporting the club.

"I won't find it a struggle to leave it all behind because the life of a gymnast plateaus.

"You get to a certain level, work hard to stay at that level and it is the same with a coach and now it is time for me to move on."
