Stewart joins Thistle after Tynecastle departure

Ross Stewart has found himself a new club, joining Championship side Partick Thistle on a deal until the end of the season.

The former Hearts goalkeeper left Tynecastle in the summer having made just nine apperances for the Gorgie club.

Even with Craig Gordon sidelined, the 28-year-old struggled to be considered as a potential number one and had been without a team since the end of last season.

New boss Kris Doolan said: “He’s a player who’s been at a top club working with top players for a few seasons now and is keen to come here and really push for first-team minutes.

"There has been interest in him from elsewhere in Scotland and down south so we’re delighted he’s chosen Thistle."
