Britain's Zoe Atkin won halfpipe silver at the Freeski World Cup in Colorado to secure her first podium of the season.

The 21-year-old scored 89.75 on her final run to finish less than a point behind China's Eileen Gu, who secured the top spot on her first run with a score of 90.50.

Cassie Sharpe was clear of Atkin following the second runs after scoring 89.00. But Atkin jumped ahead of the Canadian thanks to an impressive third run at Copper Mountain.

"I'm super hyped to put down a solid run and be back on the podium after a tough event in China," said Atkin.

Elsewhere on Saturday, fellow Briton Jaz Taylor finished in third place on day two at the Telemark Sprint World Cup double header in Pinzolo, Italy.

Kaja Bjoernstad Konow of Norway was the winner and France's Argeline Tan Bouquet was second.

Taylor, who secured sprint race gold in the first race on Friday, now has four podiums in four races on the Italian slopes.

It also takes the 31-year-old's tally to 13 World Cup podiums since the beginning of last season.
