Luke Williams has lauded Josh Key for his impressive display in Swansea City's 3-0 win over Stoke City.

Key's thumping goal, which came after slick play from Jamal Lowe on the left wing, capped off a fine victory for the hosts after Liam Cullen and Matt Grimes had earlier bulged the net for the Swans.

And head coach Williams compared Key's marauding run into the Stoke box ahead of his goal with the type of sprints previously made by Gareth Bale during the Wales legend's heyday.

"It was like a Gareth Bale-type of full-back tearing forward and he has so much power," Williams said of Key.

"I felt sorry for the 'keeper, when he pulled the trigger back I thought, 'I know what's going to happen here'. That was brilliant.

"His performances have been really good and I'm really pleased for him. I think that'll give him a bit of extra bit of confidence for what he can achieve.

"I didn't see him play for quite a while when I got here, then he came into the team and he'd been away for a while so you can feel a bit out of sorts.

"He's an exciting player."
