Jersey's Ted Chamberlain has won 1,500m gold at his first Island Games in Orkney.

The runner finished in a time of 3;55.53, more than a second ahead of Guernsey's Chris Bain with isle of Man's Sam Perry third.

"I'm absolutely delighted," Chamberlain told BBC Radio Jersey.

"It's my first Island Games, I've only lived in Jersey for a year, so it's an absolute privilege to be representing the team."

Meanwhile Jersey javelin thrower Daniel Dubras won silver in Kirkwall.

Dubras' throw of 57.97m was 2.52m behind Saaremaa's gold medallist Rauno Liitmae.

But the Jerseyman did oust Liitmae's compatriot Koit Simso who was more than seven metres behind him in the bronze medal position.

Jersey archer Molly Perrett won her second gold medal at the 2025 Island Games as she won mixed recurve head to head team knockout with teammate Freddie Crosby.

Perrett, who won women's recurve gold and team silver on Monday, took her tally to three medals so far in Orkney.

Having beaten Guernsey's Lisa Gray and Jason Le Page 5-3 in the semi-finals the pair went on to defeat Billy Finnie and Katie MacFarlane 5-1 in the final.

"I wasn't really expecting anything that has happened so far this week, so it's a bit of a shock," Perrett told BBC Radio Jersey.

Meanwhile their Jersey teammates Hannah Bridle and Francisco Rocha won silver in the mixed compound head to head team knockout.

They lost their final to Faroe Islands' Anja Eydnudottir and Joannes Poulsen 136-131.
