10,000m gold for Guernsey's Louise Perrio

Guernsey's Perrio on her way to the 10,000m gold medal on the Isle of Wight

Long distance runner Louise Perrio secured Guernsey's fifth gold medal on the athletics track with victory in the 10,000m on Wednesday evening.

Perrio completed the distance in 37 minutes, 22.34 seconds, only six seconds ahead of silver medallist Bjork Herup Olsen from the Faroe Islands.

Lee Garland added a silver as he finished behind Thomas Wade (Isle of Wight) in the 3000m steeplechase.

There was another silver for Dale Garland in the long jump.
