Island Games 2017: Jersey athletics squad named for Gotland
- Published
Jersey selectors have named a 23-strong athletics squad for the 2017 Island Games in Gotland.
Hurdler Stanley Livingston, steeplechaser Dan Romeril and high jumper Jason Fox all won gold at FB Fields in the 2015 Games and are included again.
Discus and shot put record holder Zane Duquemin misses out, as previously announced, because of a schedule clash.
Middle distance runner Gemma Dawkins is named for her sixth Games in a row.
Jersey topped the athletics medals table at Jersey 2015, with six golds, 11 silvers and 3 bronze medals.

This is a very young squad, I'm told a third of the team are 18-years-old or younger, and that's exciting.
The squad will miss Great Britain star Zane Duquemin in particular as he would have been strong favourite for another double gold, but there are still plenty of medal hopes in there.
Hurdler Stanley Livingston is one of Jersey's leading athletes of recent years and will be hopeful of repeating his gold from the 2015 Games.
It's a shame the squad is so much smaller than the home Games, but it compares well with the nine Jersey took to Bermuda in 2013 and the 25 that went to the Isle of Wight two years earlier.
Jersey squad: Damilola Williams, Tyler Johnson, Jonathan Le Grange, Samuel Maher, Isaac Du Val, William Brown, Daniel Romeril, Elliott Dorey, Pete Irving, Charlie Rive, Paul Derrien, Jason Fox, Sam Dawkins, Stanley Livingston, Cleo Leather, Bube Popo, Yasmin Lookess, Gemma Dawkins, Rebecca Thompson, Jane Grace, Kamela Monks, Laura Spencer, Olivia Allbut.
