Jemma Reekie considers Rome diversion for Euros before Paris Olympics

Reekie wins silver as Duguma takes title
Jemma Reekie might add the European Championships in June to her pre-Olympics schedule after securing a silver medal at the World Indoors.
But it would be at 1500m rather than the 25-year-old Scot's preferred distance of 800m.
Reekie clinched her first major medal in Glasgow on Sunday as she lost out to Ethiopia's champion Tsige Duguma.
"I would like to do the Europeans, but maybe not in my usual event," she told Scottish Athletics.
"I know the 1500m is really tough at the moment, but we will see how the summer season starts. There are British athletes running well in the 1500m.
"I would have to show form, but I would like to try something new and go to the Europeans."
The distance is not alien to Reekie, who until recently trained with world silver medallist and fellow Scot Laura Muir, who won 1500m Olympic silver in 2021.
A final decision on whether to try for the Europeans in Italy will be made after talks with coach Jon Bigg, his wife Sally Gunnell and British Athletics as they target a place at the Olympics in Paris.
Reekie had mixed emotions about her silver at the weekend - joy at securing that first major medal while disappointed at falling short of winning in front of her home crowd.
However, she saw it as a reward for her new training regime under Bigg.
"You do go through tough times," she added. "This time last year I was lost and going to training was a chore.
"I am enjoying it again and I'm here a different athlete and now a medallist at a global champs."
