Abi Galpin has become the first woman from Guernsey to go under 55 seconds for the 400m.
The 23-year-old lowered her own island best by 0.26 seconds as she clocked a time of 54.96 at Footes Lane on Sunday.
The time also broke the Guernsey all-comers record of 55.17 set by England Under-20 athlete Emma Alderson in 2018.
Galpin, who won 200m gold and 100m silver at last summer's Island Games, also made the semi-finals of the 200m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
She holds the Guernsey record for every distance from 60m to 400m.
