Richard Hughes quit racing because of new whip rules

Flat-racing Jockey Richard Hughes says he will not renew his riding licence after twice falling foul of the new regulations that restrict the use of the whip.

Speaking on Radio 5 live Breakfast, Hughes said he is not a whip jockey but that he cannot do his horse's owners justice under the new rules.

He also received a second suspension under the new rules in less than a week for overusing the whip.
