Phillips Idowu explains UK athletics trials pull out
Triple jumper Phillips Idowu explains his decision to pull out of the World Athletics trials in Birmingham.
The 32-year-old world champion said he didn't want to compete when he wasn't sure he could put in his best performance as he steps up his preparations for the world championships in Daegu.
Idowu's absence from the trails will not affect his qualification for the world championships as UK Athletics' selection policy states as defending world champion, he would be automatically selected.
