Gemili wants to be in medal contention at 2016 Olympics

Sprinter Adam Gemili sees no reason he should not be in medal contention at the next Olympics in 2016, though he is aware the event in Rio de Janeiro is a "long way away".

Gemili was previously a professional footballer with League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge, before taking the "big risk" to quit football for athletics at the beginning of the year, though he says he would "like to go back to football one day".

The world junior champion went on to finish third in the semi-final of the Olympic 100m, but was involved in GB's disqualification at the same stage of the 4x100m relay after his baton handover with Daniel Talbot was not completed in time.
