Tyson Gay runs 9.79 seconds to win Diamond League in Lausanne

American sprinter Tyson Gay wins the 100m at the Diamond League event in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 4 July 2013.

On Friday it was announced that the former 100m and 200m world champion would be suspended for a year after testing positive for a banned anabolic steroid.

His results since 15 July 2012, the date he first used a product containing a banned substance, have been annulled, which meant he also had to return the silver medal he won in the 4x100m relay at the London 2012 Olympics.
