Mo Farah says he and Andy Vernon are not best friends

Double Olympic champion Mo Farah apologises for his role in a public argument over Twitter this week with team-mate Andy Vernon, but says that they are "not the best of friends".

Vernon tweeted that the field that would line up against Farah at the Birmingham Grand Prix was a "joke", which led to a bizarre exchange between the pair as the double Olympic champion branded the European silver medallist an "embarrassment".

Somalia-born Farah claims the pair have "history" stemming from comments Vernon made about his nationality after Farah won European gold in 2014.

Farah went on to tweet that American singer Taylor Swift could probably run faster than Vernon.

Vernon told the BBC his comments had been "hugely" misrepresented and a jokey comment was taken out of context.
