Badminton scandal upsets Nathan Robertson

Former Olympic mixed doubles silver medallist Nathan Robertson says the badminton controversy which has seen eight players disqualified for "not using one's best efforts to win" during the London Olympics is embarrassing for the sport.

Four pairs of players have been thrown out of the women's doubles event at the London Olympics after the Badminton World Federation charged them following a stream of basic errors during their matches on Tuesday.

All four pairs have been accused of wanting to lose in an attempt to manipulate the draw for the knockout stage and Robertson told BBC Radio Nottingham the events are "completely against the Olympic spirit".
