The #bodypositive ballerina

Jessica Bell has loved to dance since she was three.

However, after nine operations on her stomach which caused scar tissue to form and after the birth of her daughter, she gained weight that she was unable to safely lose. Many dance instructors told her she needed to change her shape if she wanted to continue to dance.

Despite this, Jessica went on prove her detractors wrong and achieve a degree in dance practice - she now teaches ballet to others. She is a UK size 14-16 and her size does not hold her back: she is still body positive.

Please note that pointe work in ballet should not be attempted by untrained dancers as this can cause damage to your feet.
