Boxer David Haye blames an inured toe for his world heavyweight title defeat to Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg in July 2011.

The British heavyweight held the WBA title going into the unification bout against the WBC and IBF champion but was outclassed and suffered a points defeat to the Ukrainian, 117-109, 118-108, 116-110.

Haye fought cautiously but insisted his tactics were enforced by injury, saying "I couldn't push on my right leg. I broke my toe on my right foot" He added: "I couldn't push off the right foot to throw the right hand".
