Khan title opponent Peterson recalls life on streets

Lamont Peterson believes his upbringing "taught him to be a certain way" and says that it is reflected in the way he fights.

The 27-year-old American will fight Britain's Amir Khan in his hometown, Washington DC, on 10 December, external for the WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles and says winning a world crown is one of his dreams.

Peterson talks openly about his time living on the streets as a child saying that although it was rough, it was fun, but he admits boxing was his saviour.
