Commonwealth Games: Cancer nurse and lawn bowler Anwen Butten named Team Wales captain

Cancer nurse and lawn bowler Anwen Butten has been named Team Wales captain for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The 49-year-old is preparing for a record sixth Games for Team Wales - the most by any Welsh woman in Commonwealth history.

After making her debut at Manchester 2002, Butten has won two medals and told BBC Sport Wales that leading her nation in Birmingham will be a proud moment.
