Australia's Ricky Ponting announces Test retirement

Australia's Ricky Ponting says he is "hungrier than ever" to win the third Test against South Africa, after which he will retire from international cricket.

The 37-year-old former Australia captain will play his 168th Test in Perth against South Africa on Friday, with the three-match series tied at 0-0.

Ponting, who is the second highest run scorer in Test history behind Sachin Tendulkar, has admitted his recent poor form prompted the decision.
