Ashes 2013: Cricket Australia explain Mickey Arthur sacking

Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland explains the decision to replace coach Mickey Arthur with Darren Lehmann and relieve captain Michael Clarke of his selection responsibilities.

Arthur is described as "a good man" but performances have "not been at the standard we expect or desire", with former Australia batsmen Lehmann the "obvious choice" to replace him.

At captain Michael Clarke's request, he will no longer be on the selection panel in an attempt to focus on the "best possible preparation" for the Ashes series against England starting on 10 July at Trent Bridge.
