Ashes 2013-2014: England's Ian Bell praises "outstanding" Australia

England batsman Ian Bell says his side are being "outplayed" by Australia after they struggled on day one of the Boxing Day Test.

The visitors closed on 226-6 after Australia captured three late wickets in front of a world-record Test match crowd of 91,092.

Bell hopes Kevin Pietersen, who clung on to end the day 67 not out, can continue his hard work on the second day in Melbourne.
