Ed Joyce says World Cup opener against West Indies is key for Irish
Experienced batsmen Ed Joyce says Ireland's opening game against West Indies will be key to their World Cup campaign.
Ireland take on the West Indies in the New Zealand city of Nelson on 16 February.
"We've got a West Indies team who are in the bit of turmoil," said Joyce referring to Caribbean team's recent pull-out from the tour of India because of a pay dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board.
"They obviously still have fantastic players but if we win that game, I feel like we can go anywhere."
