Steven Finn welcomes ECB's franchise cricket plan

England fast bowler Steven Finn says a Big Bash-style franchise Twenty20 league would be a "great step in the right direction" for English cricket.

Incoming England and Wales Cricket Board chairman Colin Graves wants an English Premier League to boost crowds.

Finn, 25, says England has been "behind the times" and a Twenty20 cricket competition, attracting top names and big crowds, is the best way for players to develop.

The Middlesex player also believes ICC Associate members such as Ireland, Scotland and Afghanistan should be free to play at future World Cups as they are "part of the magic" of the competition.
