Despite a century from skipper William Porterfield, Ireland lost to Pakistan by seven wickets in Adelaide, while West Indies' six-wicket victory over United Arab Emirates put them into the knockout stages and sent the Irish home.
Despite losing all six of their matches at the tournament and finishing bottom of Pool B, UAE can go home boasting the only two century partnerships for the seventh wicket in World Cup history.
