Michael Vaughan: Moeen Ali should open batting for England in UAE
Former England captain Michael Vaughan says Moeen Ali should open the batting for England against Pakistan when the three-Test series begins in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Speaking before the news broke that Steven Finn was ruled out of the Test with injury, Vaughan also suggests it may be better if James Anderson were left out in Abu Dhabi, saying that "conventional swing has not been that effective" in the UAE.
Current England vice-captain Joe Root says Moeen will "rise to the challenge" if he is picked to open the batting.
