Rio hopeful Verity Smith fights blindfold ruling

Disabled dressage athlete Verity Smith is battling with the Paralympics committee for her right to compete at Rio 2016.

A ruling, introduced in January, dictates that the blind must be blindfolded to be able to compete, taking away any available light.

"It's like tying Usain Bolt's laces at the starting gate, it's so destabilising," the 42-year-old told BBC Points West.
