Gary Neville defends England comments

Gary Neville defends comments he made about his England career being a "waste of time, external", telling BBC Radio 5 live he said that because he had not won a trophy during his international career.

The former Manchester United defender, who has 85 caps and played in two World Cups, says he "measures success by achieving things" and England never reached a major final.

Neville also believes England would not have won the 2010 World Cup even if his former boss, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, had been in charge of the national team.
