QPR's Fernandes says Mark Hughes wants to prove himself

QPR owner Tony Fernandes says the club's new manager Mark Hughes has a "burning ambition to prove to the world what he was capable of" after the Welshman signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Loftus Road.

Fernandes says Hughes, who resigned as manager of Fulham in June after just a year in charge, is a "match made in heaven" for the club, adding that the board "felt Mark had a little more experience than Neil [Warnock] to get us where we want to be".
