Steven Gerrard delighted with Liverpool's victory over Everton

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard said the 3-0 victory over city rivals Everton in which he scored a hat-trick was "a perfect night".

Gerrard said that Liverpool deserved to win for what he described as a "very good team performance".

However he admitted that the team's form is up and down and that they need to show greater consistency if they are to climb up the table from their current position of seventh.
