Euro 2012: Shearer says Euros are 'exciting time' for England
Former England striker Alan Shearer believes the forthcoming European Championship is an "exciting time for Roy [Hodgson] and the players" and believes they are going into the tournament "without huge expectations".
New England manager Hodgson will announce his 23-man squad for the tournament at 13:00 BST on Wednesday.
Shearer also says the addition of Gary Neville to Hodgson's staff is a "good appointment" after the former Manchester United defender was drafted in to Hodgson's backroom team alongside Birmingham City goalkeeping coach Dave Watson and Fulham's Ray Lewington.
