Goalkeeper Joe Lewis says reaching the Premier League with Cardiff City would help his chances of being called up to the full England side.

The former England Under-21 player has joined Cardiff on a free transfer from Championship rivals Peterborough United.

Lewis was called up by former England manager Fabio Capello in 2008 for the friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago and the United States but has yet to win a full cap.
