Wenger 'knows what is needed' to keep Theo Walcott

Arsene Wenger says he wishes to retain Theo Walcott's services at Arsenal, revealing he "knows what is needed to keep him" at the club.

Walcott is out of contract at the end of the season and potentially free to speak with other clubs from January 1st, with the Arsenal manager hopeful of being able to "sort out the situation...before the end of December".

The England winger, 23, has been reluctant to discuss a new contract with the Gunners unless he receives assurances regarding the significance of his future role in the team.
