Newcastle had no verve against West Ham - Pardew
Manager Alan Pardew says Newcastle did not have any "imagination or verve" after they suffer a 1-0 home defeat by West Ham.
Kevin Nolan's first-half goal against his former club proved enough to see off a lacklustre Newcastle and Pardew admits his side were not good enough.
Newcastle were denied an equaliser when the officials ruled that goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen had prevented Demba Ba's header from crossing the line, and Pardew admits it was a "tight" decision.
