Liverpool 3-0 Wigan: Roberto Martinez blames international break

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez says the midweek international fixtures meant "we couldn't be ourselves" in the 3-0 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield.

Martinez says nothing went in their favour during the match as they lost midfielder Ben Watson to a "hideous" broken leg and Reds striker Luis Suarez went "unpunished" for what the Spaniard believes was a stamp on David Jones.

The Latics manager wants his side to "move on as quick as we can", and is pleased there are no more international breaks in the upcoming weeks.
