David Jeffrey says semi-final should have been called off

Linfield manager David Jeffrey insists that Tuesday's League Cup semi-final against Crusaders should have been called off because of a frozen pitch.

Jeffrey made the comments and his team's 1-0 defeat but he said that he would have felt the same even if his side had won the game.

"We're just very thankful that no-one has come off with a serious injury," said the Linfield manager.

Crusaders manager Stephen Baxter said that the conditions were the "same for both teams" as his players set up a decider against North Belfast rivals Cliftonville on 26 January.
