Windsor Park upgrade gets the go-ahead

The upgrade of Windsor Park into a modern 18,000 all-seater stadium is given the go-ahead and should be completed by the summer of 2015.

The major redevelopment will include the refurbishment of the West and North Stands, plus completely new stands at the South and East ends of the ground.

Meanwhile discussions are underway about transforming the Boucher Road area of south Belfast into a sporting village and a feasibility study has been carried out on behalf of Belfast City Council.
