New manager Nigel Adkins sets sights on Reading survival
New Reading manager Nigel Adkins says his side have "got to believe" they can escape relegation from the Premier League.
The former Southampton manager says he is "excited about the future" at the club, and says he is focused on preserving the club's top-flight status with eight games of the season remaining.
Adkins, who guided Southampton to back-to-back promotions before he was sacked in January, replaces Brian McDermott at the Madejski Stadium having signed a contract that will keep him at the club until summer 2016.
