Martin O'Neill Sunderland sacking surprising - Kevin Kilbane
Former Sunderland midfielder Kevin Kilbane questions the "surprising sacking" of manager Martin O'Neill, saying that the club "needs stability".
O'Neill was sacked after a 1-0 loss to Manchester United on Saturday left the Black Cats just one point above the Premier League relegation zone with seven games left.
Marco Gabbiadini, who played for Sunderland between 1987 and 1991, says that performances "haven't been good enough" and the search for a new manager may not be easy as candidates will have to accept "they may be a Championship manager next season".
