Warrenpoint Town beat Donegal Celtic in play-off first leg

Warrenpoint Town will take a 1-0 lead into Friday's second leg of the Irish League promotion/relegation play-off against Donegal Celtic.

Daniel Hughes hit Warrenpoint's goal with 13 minutes left after both teams had missed a number of chances.

The second leg of the tie will be played at Suffolk Road on Friday night and DC manager Pat McAllister is demanding a much improved display from his team.

"We lacked hunger. Warrenpoint wanted it more and deserved their victory. The only good thing is that we have a second chance on Friday night," said McAllister after Tuesday's game.
