James Beattie: David Lloyd says Accrington boss will love challenge

Former England cricket coach and Accrington Stanley director David Lloyd tells BBC Radio Lancashire that he is certain James Beattie will be excited by the challenge of managing the League Two club.

Ex-England striker Beattie, 35, has signed a two-year contract to replace Leam Richardson.

Lloyd also jokes that he hopes Beattie can replicate the success of retiring Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson by turning Accrington into a major force in European football.
