Boss James Beattie embracing Accrington Stanley challenge
James Beattie tells BBC North West Tonight that he has enjoyed his introduction to management as he prepares to take charge of Accrington for the first time at Newport on Saturday.
The former Everton and England striker, 35, was Stanley's choice to replace Leam Richardson, who left the Store First Stadium to become Paul Cook's assistant at Chesterfield.
Accrington finished 18th in League Two last season, but after adding experienced players such as Danny Webber and Nicky Hunt to his squad in the summer, Beattie believes his side can "compete at the right end" of the division this term.
