Roy Hodgson had 'no hesitation' over Rickie Lambert call-up

England manager Roy Hodgson says he had "no hesitation" over selecting Southampton striker Rickie Lambert in his squad for next week's friendly against Scotland.

Lambert scored 15 goals last term in his maiden Premier League season and Hodgson says he deserves the call-up, but admits he is short of forwards.

Wayne Rooney is also included in the squad for the game on Wednesday, 14 August despite missing most of pre-season because of injury problems.
