Roy Hodgson 'hopes' Wayne Rooney saga will be resolved
England manager Roy Hodgson expects Wayne Rooney to put his club troubles aside to possibly start in Wednesday's friendly against Scotland.
There has been intense speculation about Rooney's future at Manchester United and the 27-year-old has missed most of pre-season with injury.
Hodgson said that regardless of his domestic situation, Rooney would always be considered for the England team because he is "one of our best players".
